Tonight, as I tucked Atticus into bed, I told him that we were going on an adventure tomorrow. In his world, anything is cool if you add the tag “adventure” onto it including (but of course not limited to) trips to Home Depot, a walk around the neighborhood, a ride to the grocery store… you get the picture. Tomorrow, the adventure is taking us a little further down the road though. We’re heading to Greenville. For those of you who actually know where that is… YAY! For those of you still trying to figure out why we would go to Greenville, I’m getting there.
On a warm fall day many moons ago, I met a young man by the name of “Professor.” At least that’s what his buddy was trying (unsuccessfully) to convince me his name was. Turns out this guy’s name was Thomas. It took a little while, but eventually we got together. And now, in October we’ll be stumbling into 10 years of togetherness! That seems like such a long time! Probably because it is.
So many things have happened in those 10 years. If you would have told either of us back then, that we’d be taking a day trip to visit our old Alma Mater ECU (in Greenville
) with our two year old son… yikes. I honestly don’t know what we would have done. Laughed? Runaway? Both?
The good news is, no one was there to tell us that was going to happen. So tomorrow, we’re going on adventure. We’ll be taking Atticus to Greenville where we’ll hang out with his Uncle Mark (there on our first date), snap a couple pictures of my little pirate on campus (where we met), and just enjoy being back where it all began.

Hope you had a great adventure!
It was awesome! Thanks. =)
